Introducing Homeopath Margot Maidment and Homeopathy
Why homeopathy?
Are you experiencing health problems that don’t seem to get better? Do you want to avoid taking conventional drugs? Are you looking for preventative treatment or alternative ways to address the health issues of yourself and your family?
What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a long-established system of medicine using the principle of ‘like cures like’. The aim of treatment is to match your symptoms with those of a remedy substance to enable your innate healing mechanisms to respond to bring about healing.
What is involved in treatment?
The consultation is designed to look both at your ‘presenting problem’ and at the circumstances which have contributed to the development of your health problem, taking into account both physical and emotional issues. The aim of homeopathic treatment is to relieve your immediate problem while also addressing your susceptibility in order to bring about a long-lasting improvement in your health.
Who can benefit from homeopathic treatment?
Homeopathy is appropriate for ‘first-aid’ situations, for chronic health problems and is particularly suitable for the development of health issues that occur as part of natural transitional life changes such as becoming a teenager, becoming a parent, mid-life changes such as the peri-menopause and the menopause and growing older, as well as the health challenges presented by the very young and the very old.
Constitutional treatment has been found by many patients to reduce the likelihood of developing subsequent ill health in later life thus making it an ideal preventative approach. As remedies are highly diluted homeopathy is completely safe in pregnancy and infancy and indeed, treatment at this time or preferably pre-conceptually, is the ideal time to start to look at the health of the whole family.
How long will it take?
Your initial consultation will last for one and a half hours with a follow up appointment scheduled for between a fortnight and a month later. It is recommended that you allow for two or three appointments in the first instance with subsequent appointments made only if they are appropriate and if they are recommended. It is likely that any subsequent appointments are made for increasingly longer intervals as your health improves. The aim is for you to become increasingly independent and in control of your own health.
