Introducing Exeter Shiatsu Practitioner, Cheryl Jenkins

Shiatsu Practitioner, Cheryl JenkinsI’ve always been fascinated by the human body and the way it enables us to engage, enjoy and experience life in a meaningful way. Over the years shiatsu has been a fantastic support in helping me stay healthy, recover quickly from injury and cope with some really difficult and stressful times. Receiving and learning shiatsu has undoubtedly transformed my life.

When I first had shiatsu I was amazed by its effects. I knew immediately that I wanted to learn more. I continued to receive regular shiatsu treatments and later completed the Bristol School of Shiatsu four year shiatsu practitioner training course. In May this year, I will complete a postgraduate course in transformational shiatsu. I’m now also part of the teaching team at the Bristol School of Shiatsu. In between treatments I work as a freelance medical writer, helping physicians and other healthcare professionals to communicate the latest medical research to a variety of audiences.

ShiatsuI studied nutrition at University as I wanted to learn more about the ways in which we can support the body’s ability to heal and maintain health. After my degree, I spent five years in academia researching and teaching. I’m generally quite active and I like to spend lots of time outdoors. I love yoga and surfing as they both require me to be fully present with every action and they make me feel so alive!

I’m passionate and committed to empowering you to find a strong sense of health and wellbeing. Through shiatsu and mindfulness techniques I will help you to become more aware of your body and to experience a deep sense of peace. By stepping into a place of complete relaxation, your body will be free to rebalance itself. As a result you will become stronger, more able to move freely and accept life positively so that you can live your life to its fullest no matter what your situation.

Give me a call or send me an email if you’d like to talk more about how shiatsu could help you revitalise your life and enjoy every day as a new and exciting adventure!
