Exeter Chiropractor Katie Thompson DC

Chiropractor ExeterI first became interested in chiropractic after suffering from glandular fever as a teen. Having exhausted the diagnosis and treatment options that the traditional medical system could provide I started to look elsewhere for relief and found chiropractic. I found the experience incredibly positive and it not only improved my physical health but my mental and emotional health too. I became so enamored with chiropractic that I eventually decided to change my degree to study to become a chiropractor. I had previously wanted to enter a healthcare profession but did not feel physically able after my illness. However after receiving chiropractic treatment I gradually realized that all the things I thought I couldn’t cope with anymore were open to me again.

I feel that chiropractic is a great way to approach natural healthcare and being a chiropractor is in keeping with my belief that holistic, patient centred care is most beneficial to healing and recovery. I believe chiropractic is about promoting health without using medications, by looking at nutrition, exercise, emotional well being and through empowering the patient through advice and education.

I studied at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in Glamorgan University, near my home town of Cardiff. I graduated in 2009 with a Master of Chiropractic (MChiro). I have a keen interest in research and I achieved the Best Research Project Award in university having looked at different models of patient care. I am trained in diversified technique, however since graduating I have been inspired and captivated by the work of Neil Davies DC who has developed an extremely gentle, neurologically specific and reproducible technique called NeuroImpulse Protocol, and it is this technique that I love to use when treating patients as I feel it achieves the best results from babies to the elderly alike!

In my spare time I love to travel and explore the world and I enjoy a healthy lifestyle by being active, cooking wholesome meals and taking time to just be. I like to paint and play the piano, read, listen to music, and surround myself with my family and friends. I am also passionate about continuing my own learning and education and like to study and research many different aspects of chiropractic and a healthy lifestyle to better equip myself, my family and my patients to live to the highest potential.

I am really excited and pleased to join the team at County Chiropractic and I would love to meet you and talk about how chiropractic could improve your health and well being.
